Ready When You Are

Every year in Texas, more than 8% of adults engage in dangerous weight-control behaviors such as taking unprescribed diet pills or falling into the spiral of binge eating. This silent epidemic is growing.
Emergency room visits and hospital stays tied to eating disorders have surged in recent years, hitting hardest among young adults aged 18 to 44, with women disproportionately affected. Behind the statistics, lives hang in the balance.
And the most sobering fact? Every year, more than 20 Texans lose their lives to eating disorders, a death toll that steals mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, partners, and friends. These are not just numbers on a page. These are human stories of struggle, pain, and, too often, silence.
If you or someone you care about is struggling, please remember that you are not alone, and recovery is possible with the right support and eating disorder treatment. At Eating Disorder Solutions, we offer hope. Our compassionate, comprehensive treatment near Arlington is designed to help individuals overcome eating disorders and rediscover healthy, fulfilling lives. No matter how overwhelming things may feel right now, there is a way forward, and we’re here to walk with you every step of the journey.

Eating Disorders We Help Arlington Clients Overcome
Eating Disorder Solutions provides comprehensive treatment near Arlington for all major eating disorders. We tailor care plans to every diagnosis, ensuring focused therapy that tackles the root causes and specific challenges of each condition.
Anorexia Nervosa Treatment
Anorexia is characterized by an intense fear of weight gain, a distorted body image, and extreme food restriction leading to significantly low body weight. Individuals may see themselves as “overweight” even when dangerously underweight. Our anorexia treatment program focuses on medical stabilization, nutritional rehabilitation, and gentle psychological support to help clients from Arlington restore their health and regain a balanced relationship with food.
Bulimia Nervosa Treatment
Bulimia involves cycles of binge eating (consuming large quantities of food with a feeling of being out of control) followed by purging behaviors such as self-induced vomiting, laxative use, or over-exercising. People with bulimia often maintain a normal weight, which can make the disorder less visible, but it inflicts serious physical and emotional harm. At EDS, we treat bulimia with nutritional counseling, skills to cope with triggers, and therapies that build self-esteem and healthier coping mechanisms.
Binge Eating Disorder Treatment
BED is characterized by recurrent episodes of eating extremely large amounts of food, often rapidly and to the point of discomfort, accompanied by feelings of shame or loss of control, without regular compensatory purging behaviors. It is the most common eating disorder in the U.S. Our binge eating disorder treatment addresses the emotional triggers behind overeating, teaches mindful eating habits, and helps clients from Arlington develop healthier ways to cope with stress and emotions.
ARFID Treatment
Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder is an eating disorder characterized by avoidance of certain foods or overall restricted intake that leads to weight loss, nutritional deficiencies, and/or dependence on supplements, without the body image concerns seen in anorexia. Our ARFID treatment involves gradual exposure to new foods, sensory integration techniques, and anxiety management to ensure clients from Arlington receive adequate nutrition and overcome food aversions.
OSFED Treatment
Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder refers to eating disorder symptoms that are serious and cause significant distress/impairment, but don’t neatly fit the exact diagnostic criteria of anorexia, bulimia, or BED. Examples include atypical anorexia, subthreshold bulimia, purging disorder, etc. Individuals with OSFED still need and deserve proper treatment. At EDS, we create customized recovery plans for OSFED clients based on their specific behaviors and health needs, addressing both the eating-related issues and any underlying emotional struggles.
UFED Treatment
Unspecified Feeding or Eating Disorder is a category used when an eating disorder is present but hasn’t been fully evaluated or specified. We treat UFED with the same comprehensive approach, ensuring each person receives a thorough assessment and an individualized mix of medical, nutritional, and therapeutic interventions. Our goal is to identify the core issues and provide effective treatment even if a client’s symptoms don’t initially align with a single label.
Orthorexia Treatment
Orthorexia, while not an official DSM diagnosis, is an increasingly recognized form of disordered eating. It is essentially an unhealthy obsession with “healthy” or “clean” eating. Individuals become so fixated on eating only pure or “right” foods that they develop rigid rules and may suffer malnutrition or extreme anxiety around food. Our team helps those with orthorexia learn balance and flexibility in their eating, challenge perfectionistic thoughts about diet, and reconnect with the joy of eating without constant fear or guilt.
Compulsive Overeating Treatment
We also provide care for individuals from Arlington dealing with compulsive overeating or emotional eating that may not qualify as formal BED. Clients learn to recognize emotional triggers for overeating, practice mindful eating techniques, and build coping skills that don’t involve food. Over time, they establish a healthier relationship with food and their bodies.
Body Dysmorphia Treatment
Many people with eating disorders also experience body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), an obsessive preoccupation with perceived flaws in one’s appearance that are usually unnoticeable to others. Our clinicians are experienced in treating body dysmorphia alongside eating disorders. Through therapy (such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and exposure exercises), we help clients challenge distorted beliefs about their looks and reduce the compulsive behaviors (like mirror-checking or camouflaging) that feed the disorder.

Integrated Treatment for Co-Occurring Disorders Near Arlington
Eating disorders often do not occur in isolation. In many cases, individuals also suffer from other mental health conditions that can exacerbate the eating disorder or make recovery more challenging. At Eating Disorder Solutions, we provide integrated eating disorder treatment near Arlington that addresses both the eating disorder and any co-occurring mental health conditions for truly holistic care.
Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety frequently co-occurs with eating disorders, including generalized anxiety, social anxiety, and panic disorders. Our anxiety treatment program integrates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, and pharmacological support as needed to reduce symptoms and enhance treatment engagement.

Depression
Depressive disorders often impair motivation, energy levels, and emotional resilience, which can hinder progress in eating disorder recovery. Our depression treatment includes evidence-based therapies such as CBT and interpersonal therapy, alongside medication management when clinically indicated.

Trauma & PTSD
Histories of trauma are common among individuals with eating disorders, with unresolved trauma contributing to maladaptive coping behaviors. We implement a trauma-informed care model and offer trauma-focused therapies, such as EMDR and trauma-focused CBT, to safely address and process traumatic experiences.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
OCD presents with intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviors that may overlap with eating disorder rituals and rigidity. Our OCD treatment approach utilizes Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to systematically reduce compulsions and increase cognitive flexibility around food and body image.

Bipolar Disorder
Bipolar disorder involves alternating episodes of depression and mania or hypomania, which can disrupt mood regulation, daily routines, and eating behaviors. Our bipolar disorder treatment program includes psychiatric oversight, mood-stabilizing medications, and structured therapy to support stability and participation in recovery.

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
ADHD can contribute to impulsive eating, poor planning, and difficulty maintaining regular eating patterns. Our ADHD treatment plan incorporates behavioral strategies, executive function support, and non-stimulant medication when appropriate to improve focus and consistency in care.

Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)
BPD is marked by emotional dysregulation, impulsivity, and interpersonal instability, all of which can exacerbate disordered eating behaviors. Our BPD treatment uses Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to promote emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and relational stability within a structured therapeutic environment.

Eating Disorder Treatment Programs We Offer to Arlington Residents
Recovery from an eating disorder isn’t one-size-fits-all. That’s why Eating Disorder Solutions provides a full continuum of care for clients from Arlington, offering different levels of treatment intensity to meet you where you are in your recovery journey. Whether you need 24-hour support in a home-like setting or part-time therapy while balancing daily life, we have a program that can help.
Residential Treatment
Our residential program offers the highest level of care outside a hospital setting, ideal for individuals with moderate to severe eating disorders or those needing more intensive support than outpatient treatment can provide. Located at The Ranch at Weatherford, this live-in program provides 24/7 supervision, medical monitoring, and comprehensive therapeutic services in a peaceful, homelike environment. Clients receive individual and group therapy, nutritional counseling, medical oversight, and holistic activities aimed at medical and emotional stabilization. The average stay ranges from 30 to 60 days, depending on clinical needs.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Our PHP is a structured, full-day outpatient program for individuals stepping down from residential care or entering treatment without the need for 24-hour supervision. Clients attend five days a week and participate in monitored meals, group therapy, individual and family sessions, and psychoeducational workshops. The program also includes hands-on activities like grocery shopping, restaurant outings, and cooking practice to build real-world skills. PHP offers high-level support while allowing clients to return home in the evenings.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
The IOP offers a flexible treatment schedule designed to support continued recovery while clients maintain daily responsibilities like work or school. The program is typically offered 3 to 5 days per week, with each session lasting a few hours. Clients take part in one supervised meal or snack and one group therapy session each day they attend, along with weekly individual therapy. IOP helps reinforce coping strategies, prevent relapse, and ease the transition to independent living.
Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (VIOP)
We provide a virtual IOP option for clients in Arlington or anywhere in Texas who may not live near our facility or who have obligations that make travel difficult. Delivered via secure video conferencing, the program mirrors our in-person IOP with scheduled therapy sessions, nutrition counseling, and group support. It is suitable for clients stepping down from higher levels of care or starting treatment remotely due to geographic or logistical constraints. Virtual IOP ensures continuity of care while fostering connection and accountability from home.
