Nicole Hoffman, LPC, LCDC
Nicole Hoffman, LPC, LCDC, is a knowledgeable clinician who has found passion and dedication in her ability to provide clinically excellent services to individuals with significant mental health challenges. Early on in her career Nicole saw significant links between underlying trauma and severe symptomology typically seen in high acuity populations. Her experiences working in community mental health were an opportunity to provide services across the lifespan to underserved individuals and families, which also provided insight into systemic issues both in communities and in families. In this work Nicole also spent time working on prevention and intervention initiatives addressing suicidality and early onset psychosis. In both clinical and leadership roles, Nicole has had the opportunity to serve adults and adolescents in high acuity outpatient settings. She has spent time developing and implementing curriculum for the treatment of complex trauma, PTSD, dissociation, substance use, and disordered eating and ensuring that the curriculum is able to adequately address these issues in LGBTQ and BIPOC populations. As a leader, Nicole prioritizes the development of a healthy work culture and supports her team through ongoing training, clinical collaboration, and maintaining a treatment environment that demonstrates the value of work-life balance in our ability to provide holistic, effective treatment. In her personal life Nicole enjoys various forms of self-care including reading, spending time outdoors, learning, puzzles, various crafts and caring for her son and their cats, Leo and Bandit, and bearded dragon, Mushu.
Dr. Anil Swarup, M.D.
Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist
Dr. Anil Swarup is a Double Board Certified Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist. After completing his residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, he opted to focus further on children and adolescent mental health by completing his fellowship with the Mount Sinai School of Medicine services at Elmhurst Hospital Center in New York. Dr. Swarup has served as Medical Director with community mental health centers and residential programs throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He has experience working with incarcerated adults and adjudicated adolescents in placement, substance use residential program for adolescents and adults and eating disorders in adolescents and adults. Dr. Swarup joins Eating Disorder Solutions with more than 20 years of experience in treating clients suffering from disordered eating. Dr. Swarup's upbringing and exposure while growing up all around the world lends to his understanding of the cultural challenges that exist in various populations. His vision is to see mental health awareness and treatment at the forefront of wellness in all age groups.
Emily Baum, M.S., RDN, LD
Lead Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
Emily Baum graduated with a BS in Nutrition from the University of Texas at Austin and an MS in Nutrition from Texas Woman's University. During graduate school, Emily began working as a Milieu Therapist at the Eating Disorder Unit at Children's Health in Plano. Here, Emily became passionate about working with children and families leading her to pursue a position as a Behavioral Health Counselor and Dietary Assistant at Eating Recovery Center. Upon completion of her studies, Emily was accepted into Keith & Associate's Dietetic Internship to become a Registered Dietitian. As Lead Dietitian at Eating Disorder Solutions, Emily has been able to combine both her studies and in-field experience to create a nutritional program unlike any other treatment provider for disordered eating. Emily’s philosophy is that all foods are good foods, in a healthy and acceptable moderation. Emily will work individually with each client to develop a nutritional program specific to their needs, not only applicable while they are in our care, but to be practiced and followed when they leave Eating Disorder Solutions.
Samantha Gordon, M.S., LMFT-A
Samantha Gordon has a Master's of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Samantha completed her graduate internship at a school district initiative which helped at-risk students and their families in Broward County make systemic changes. As well, she has worked with individuals, couples, and families at the Brief Therapy Institute and led Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills groups for teens in private practice. Samantha believes that the relationships clients have with themselves and others influence the way they manage in their lives. You will see Samantha throughout your journey, from beginning to end, as she will conduct your very first assessment, and also provide outpatient therapy services when you are nearing successful completion with us.
Christyna Johnson RD, LD
REGISTERED DIETITIAN NUTRITIONIST
Christyna Johnson received her bachelor's degree of nutrition from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. From there, she completed her master's degree of nutrition from Texas Woman's University in Denton. She practices from a health at every size lens focusing on social justice and empowerment. She believes that all foods fit and that sustainable recovery allows individuals to explore the world outside of themselves and connect to their passions. When she's not dismantling diet culture, she can be found tending to her plants and exploring the great outdoors.
Laura Rossmurphy, LPC
Laura Rossmurphy is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Laura graduated with a BA in Psychology from Southern Methodist University and an MA in Counseling Psychology from Boston College, an institution that emphasizes social justice and advocacy. Since completing her studies, Laura has had a variety of experiences from teaching art to working as a researcher and content writer in the mental health and human resources fields. In 2018 Laura’s passion for mental health advocacy led her to pursue licensure as an LPC. Shortly after, Laura started working at Center for Discovery as a counselor and education liaison where she developed a passion for working with eating disorders. As a therapist at Eating Disorder Solutions, Laura has created a collaborative, client-centered approach that allows for comprehensive individualized treatment. Laura believes that eating disorder recovery is not only the hardest thing her clients will do but also the most important because within the pain and struggle is an incredible opportunity for growth.
