Why Choose Residential Eating Disorder Treatment

Residential treatment for eating disorders is often chosen when clients require a higher level of care due to the severity and complexity of their condition. It is ideal for clients who need round-the-clock care, but do not require a hospital setting for acute illness. Here are some reasons why someone might choose residential treatment and who may benefit from it:

  • Home-like Environment: We affectionately refer to our residential treatment center as your “home away from home.” Here, we prioritize your comfort and well-being, providing ample space for you to truly make it your own sanctuary. With spacious bedrooms, a chef-styled kitchen for delicious and nutritious meals, a cozy living room, beautiful outdoor spaces and more, our center is designed to ensure that your stay is not just a commitment but a warm and inviting environment where healing feels natural. We believe in creating a nurturing space that encourages a sense of belonging and tranquility, making your journey to wellness as comfortable and home-like as possible.
  • Evidence-based Therapy Methods: At our center, we pride ourselves on offering a comprehensive range of evidence-based therapy modalities, ensuring a holistic approach to your recovery journey. From nutritional therapy, psychotherapy, ecotherapy, expressive therapy, and exposure therapy, our diverse range of therapeutic interventions help you explore the intricate interplay between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors related to food and body image. As you progress through each step of your journey, these therapies provide opportunities to learn healthy coping skills, which further enhance your resilience and foster stress and anxiety tolerance directly connected to your eating disorder. We believe in tailoring our approach to meet your unique needs, empowering you with a diverse set of tools to navigate the complexities of recovery and build a foundation for lasting well-being.
  • 24/7 Support: Healing from an eating disorder requires a compassionate and structured environment, offering stability and a comforting routine. Accountability and monitoring by healthcare professionals ensure progress is closely tracked, allowing for ongoing adjustments to treatment plans. Our team comprises incredibly talented individuals from diverse backgrounds and lifestyles, many of whom have personally confronted eating disorders or mental health challenges. Their firsthand experiences provide a deeper understanding of the emotions and struggles individuals may encounter during treatment. This intrinsic connection enables us to provide support that is deeply attuned to your well-being. With around-the-clock care available whenever needed, the collaborative efforts among recovery coaches, therapists, dietitians, nurses, and other clinical staff ensure that you are never alone in your journey toward recovery.
  • Meal Support: Recovering from an eating disorder is a deeply personal journey, and meal support is a compassionate cornerstone of this healing process. Beyond mere guidance, it offers a wellspring of encouragement and understanding, addressing the unique challenges you face. This gentle yet powerful assistance aids in overcoming anxieties tied to food, creating a positive and supportive mealtime experience. Meal support is crucial for normalizing eating behaviors, promoting a healthier mindset, and contributing significantly to the overall success of the recovery journey. It provides the emotional and practical support needed during this critical aspect of healing, acknowledging the significance of each step with empathy and care. • Medical Stability: For clients facing medical instability due to severe malnutrition, electrolyte imbalances, or other medical complications, it’s essential to have round-the-clock medical supervision and care. Residential eating disorder treatment offers a supportive environment where individuals can receive the close attention and medical monitoring they need to ensure their well-being and safety.
  • Behavioral Interventions: Clients navigating eating disorders often exhibit complex behaviors that call for attentive care and intervention. Here in our program, we recognize the significance of addressing these behaviors with understanding and skill. We take a team approach, including therapists, dietitians, and medical professionals, to offer personalized support that meets each individual’s specific needs and challenges.
  • Transition from Inpatient Care: Entering residential treatment marks an important phase for clients transitioning from the intensity of inpatient care. It’s a comforting space where individuals can find ongoing support as they navigate their path toward greater independence and wellness. Here, they’re surrounded by a caring community ready to assist them every step of the way as they gradually build confidence and self-reliance.
  • Chronicity or Treatment Resistance: For some clients, their experience with chronic eating disorders has been a tough road, and they haven’t quite found the right support in lower levels of care. That’s where residential treatment comes in. It offers a higher level of support and understanding, acknowledging the complexities and difficulties of long-standing or tough-to-treat cases. Here, individuals discover a nurturing environment where their challenges are met with empathy and care, giving them the chance to finally get the comprehensive support they’ve been searching for.

It’s normal to feel anxious or even reluctant about treatment, but it’s important to keep in mind that recovery is possible and achievable. If you or a loved one are struggling with an eating disorder, there is hope. Our medical professionals, therapists, psychiatrists, and dietitians will guide you and support you every step of the way. We’re here to answer any questions you might have. Give us a call at 855-808-4213.

Other Eating Disorder Treatment Programs Offered:

Residential Treatment Therapy Sessions

Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs

When individuals complete our residential eating disorder program, they don’t have to return home without our support. In fact, it’s very common for individuals to need ongoing guidance as they adjust to managing their eating disorder on their own. For this reason, Eating Disorder Solutions offers partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs.

These are step-down programs that include further therapy and nutrition guidance. The biggest difference between them and our residential program is that individuals live at home and visit our facility for therapy throughout the week.

Our PHP involves a structured schedule with five hours of therapy five or six days per week. For the IOP, we provide three hours of therapy three days per week. We can help individuals determine which level of care will best suit their needs.

We understand the importance of fostering a compassionate and accepting environment where you can truly focus on nurturing your overall health and well-being, regardless of your size or weight.

Do you treat other mental health disorders?

Yes! All of our clinicians are Licensed Clinical Therapists and have education regarding mental health. We are absolutely able to process mental health components with all clients in a group and individual setting.

What do meal plans look like?

We understand that meal planning can be a sensitive topic, especially for those navigating eating disorders. That’s why, upon admission, you’ll have a chance to meet with our compassionate dietitian for a thorough nutritional assessment. Taking into account your unique needs, diagnosis, and past history with eating disorders, our dietitian will work with you to create a meal plan that feels right for you. Together, we’ll consider what’s realistic and sustainable for you, ensuring your meal plan is tailored to support your well-being and recovery journey.
