How do I Prepare for The Intake Process?
Prior to seeking treatment at our facility in Dallas, TX, there are a few things our clients need to arrange. As always, our team will prepare you for the intake process and answer any questions you may have. Here are some things you may need to organize prior to arriving at our facility.
How Do I Verify Insurance Benefits?
Prior to the intake process, our Admissions Specialists will work with your insurance to determine financial responsibility and assess the contribution your insurance provider may make towards treatment. We will act as a liaison during this process and answer any questions you may have. If you do not have insurance, we can provide you with more information regarding your financing options. Our goal is to make sure you can focus on getting the help you need, without worrying about a financial burden after recovery.
How do I Prepare for Medical Records and Medications?
Prior to intake, please organize your medical records and your medication. Our medical staff will review your medical records and medications upon arrival.
How do I Prepare for Travel and Logistics?
Our admissions team should give you an idea of when treatment and the intake process can begin. This will give you time to arrange time off from work or school and/or arrange child care. If other family members will be traveling with you, we can make recommendations for nearby hotels.
What Do I Pack for Treatment?
We want to make sure our clients are comfortable during their stay. One of our Admissions Specialists will provide you with a list of what to pack for your stay, as well as a list of items to keep at home. If you have any questions regarding what to bring to our facility, we are here to help.

What is The Clinical Evaluation During your Intake Appointment?
The start of treatment for eating disorders at Eating Disorder Solutions requires a thorough medical and psychiatric assessment to help us learn more about your health and history, while simultaneously orienting you to the program. This assessment, combined with the treatment history and other data collected prior to admissions, will be used to create a personalized treatment plan. Just as no two clients are alike, each client’s evaluation is unique to him or her. This evaluation is critical to establishing the path to recovery. Every clinical evaluation is private and confidential.
What is Included in The Clinical Evaluation?
- Medical History: During your evaluation, we’ll perform a thorough review of your medical history. This will provide your treatment team with powerful insights into the physical and emotional challenges you’ve faced in the past and are facing now.
- Confidential Interview: You’ll sit down for a one-on-one interview with one of our experienced therapists. We’ll take time to learn about your concerns and goals, as well as challenges and strengths. We want to learn as much as possible about you in order to provide the most effective eating disorder treatment.
- Physical Exam: One of our medical specialists will perform a thorough physical exam to determine the present state of your medical health.
When all assessments are completed, you will begin participating in the program at the appropriate level of care. Eating Disorder Solutions offers comprehensive care including Residential Treatment, Partial Hospitalization, and Intensive Outpatient programs. Your comprehensive evaluation will help your treatment team place you at the right level of care for your needs.
